“Art as Resistance.”

Sagebrush’s first art show; a collaborative postcard art show.

Art as resistance.

We are launching our first postcard art show and we would love to have you join us. This art show is a collaborative effort by Sagebrush Collaborative and local artists.
We are asking you to create your personal interpretation of the theme “art as resistance.”

All submitted artwork will be priced at $20 to keep the show accessible and equitable, regardless of medium or complexity, and will be available for purchase on the day of the show. By submitting your piece, you agree to donate it to Sagebrush Collaborative, and all proceeds, minus a 3% transaction fee will be donated to a local nonprofit.
Entry into the show will be free, as will the packets. If you want to help us with costs, a $2 suggested donation is appreciated at pickup.

GUIDELINES

  1. While we do not want to dictate your interpretation of “art as resistance,” to keep the show family-friendly, explicit imagery or language must be censored, or the piece may not be displayed.  This is a neighborhood collaboration, please respect our decision on this.

  2. Please do not go beyond the allotted 4” x 6” canvas. You are welcome to paint, draw, collage, or experiment with any medium, as long as it fits within the 4” x 6” size.

  3. All art will be sold for $20 no matter what is on the canvas.  Please keep this in mind,  you are more than welcome to paint, draw, collage, ect. but since this is a donation do not over extend yourself.

  4. Not an “artist”?  While we disagree (everyone is an artist!) don’t let this deter you.  EVERYONE is welcome to enter!

  5. Please print your name and sign the back of your art piece.  We would love for all artists to be credited for their work.  Feel free to include social media handles and websites as well, or taping/gluing a business card on the back if you are a working artist.

Participation packets will be available for pickup ONLY at Sagebrush Collaborative in Hyde Park (1609 13th St, Boise, ID 83702) starting March 15th. It is free to enter: a suggested donation of $2 is helpful and appreciated.

Ursula K. Le Guin

"Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words."

The postcard art show will be on display for our opening on April 25th from 6pm-8pm.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the opening. All art will be for sale and will be donated to a local non profit.
